たちは、日本国の四国という島にある丸亀市に住んでいます。
We live in Marugame City in Shikoku Island of Japan. The population of Marugame is about 110,0000. There are 17 elementary schools in Marugame. Our Joken Elementary School is located in the downtown of Marugame. Our school has 270 students, including 51 sixth graders. Since Joken Elementary School is located in the downtown of Marugame, our area do not have hills or rivers. Maugame is a port city with many historical buildings.
わたしたち６ 年２組は、男子１４名、女子１１名のクラスです。 男女の仲もよく、休み時間には、「ウノ」や「バトルえんぴつ」をして遊んでいます。 体育を好きな子が多く、バスケットボールが一番人気です。 放課後は、不審者対策で、集団下校をしているので、学校で遊べません。 ちょっと寂しいで す。
Our Class 6-2 has 14 boys and 11 girls. We enjoy playing "Uno"-cards, and "Battle Pencil" together during the break. Each side of hexagonal "Battle Pencil" has a number. We roll a "Battle Pencil" and compete to reach the higher number. We love P.E. very much. Basketball is our favorite. Recently, we all have to go home in a group for security reason, so we cannot play at school grounds after school. We are a little disappointed with that.

We study English at school in Japan. Which foreign languages do you study at school in the United States?In most elementary schools, we just learn English,. When we get to middle and high school, we have an option to take Spanish (most popular), French and German.

Do you have any volunteer activities as school work?Yes. Secretary, paper monitors, flags, games leading, librarian, sweeper, computer monitor, table captain, and ball monitors.
はい。 係りの仕事等をボ ランティアでします。 先生の書記、連絡用紙等を配る係り、日付を変える係り、2年生のクラスとの交流の時のゲーム指導係り、図書係り、そうじ係り、コン ピューター管理係り、班長、休み時間のボール指導係りがあります。

What kind of extracurricular clubs do you have?We have book clubs, band orchestra, student council at school. Outside of school, there are dance, karate, volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming, baseball, BMX, badminton, football, etc.

Most games are played by boys and girls.

8. なぜ、サッ カーをすることが、禁止されているの？
Why does your school prohibit playing soccer?
If we played soccer, the playground was too crowded. It was too violent because there were no referees.
サッ カーをしたら、他の子の遊び場が、狭くなるからです。 また、レフリーがいなかったので、けんかになりやすかったからです。

What time is your school out?Our school is out at 2:20 p.m. But it is 12:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Is school bus free of charge?
Yes. But we don't have buses which bring kids to school from home.

Why do some students commute by bus?
If they live far away from school, they commute by bus.
